Businessman Bill King today announced three respected Houstonians who will co-chair his mayoral campaign to get Houston “Back to Basics”. Real estate and finance veteran Mark Bettencourt, civic leader Patricia Dewhurst and nationally renowned attorney Charles Foster have agreed to help guide King’s campaign to victory.
“I could not be more pleased to have the support and advice of these three wonderful friends and respected Houstonians,” King said. “Like me, they believe City Hall has to get back to basics in order to lead Houston forward, and with their support – and the growing support we have from all parts of Houston – I know we can and will build a winning campaign.”
Pledging to get city government "back to basics" and address the chronic budget and infrastructure problems that threaten Houston's future, businessman and civic leader Bill King today declared his candidacy for Mayor and asked his fellow Houstonians to come together to put "America's City of Opportunity" back on the path to financial stability.
All are invited to the King campaign's kickoff fundraiser on Monday, March 23 at the Cadillac Bar, 1802 Shepherd, Houston, TX 77007 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to hear Bill lay out his plans for getting Houston #BackToBasics: Fix the Streets, Catch the Crooks, Balance the Budget.
On Thursday, February 19, Bill King participated in the first mayoral forum of the 2015 campaign. The event was sponsored by the Urban Land Institute, and was moderated by reporter Doug Miller of KHOU at a Galleria-area restaurant. Questions dealt with a variety of issues including city finances, transportation, and the ReBuild Houston program passed by voters in 2010 to address our infrastructure needs.
