The Bill King for Houston mayoral campaign today announced it had exceeded its goals for political donations at the close of the June 30th reporting period. The forthcoming campaign finance report to be filed with the City Secretary’s office will show King raised roughly $1.25 million — with approximately $750,000 of the total coming from nearly 600 donations.
Demonstrating bipartisan appeal, businessman Bill King today announced that State Representative Dwayne Bohac (R-138) and former State Representative Al Luna (D-143) have endorsed his candidacy to be Houston’s next Mayor. Both community leaders cited King’s extensive experience on city finances and other issues for prompting their decision this early in the campaign process.
"Harris County relies heavily on the success of the City of Houston,” Daniel said. "Houston demands a leader that can navigate the city toward a better, more financially stable future. I have known Bill King for a long time, and I know he is the leader Houston needs to resolve today's financial challenges and cultivate growth for the nation's fourth largest city. Bill will be a steady force for positive change, helping the city chart a course towards a stronger Houston."
